To provide secretarial and administrative support to the CEO and to act as Board/Committee secretariat.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES - This should describe the key areas of the job.
1. Provide secretarial and administrative services to the CEO as required.
2. Act as Secretary to the Charity and Commercial Boards (and Office Bearers when required), Board Committees (except Awards and Honours, and Salaries and Conditions of Service), General Meetings and distribute minutes to the relevant people. To ensure that notices and agendas for these meetings are distributed in an appropriate manner and timescale and to make the necessary arrangements for these meetings.
3. Maintain all Board records such as the database, correspondence from the CEO’s office, minutes, data protection documentation, register of interests, Trustee training and membership lists.
4. Act as minute taker at staff and Trustee investigation, disciplinary and grievance meetings.
5. Maintain personnel files and records, including organisational charts, job descriptions and senior management team annual leave and TOIL.
6. On behalf of the CEO, issue employment related documents such as offer letters, contracts of employment, pay instructions.
7. Maintain the Employee Handbook and Personnel Guidance System having been notified of content changes by the senior management team and/or employment law advisors.
8. Work with the organisation’s Health & Safety Officer to organise and resolve routine office repairs and facilities issues.
9. To provide administrative support to other senior managers for key projects (e.g. assistance with major fundraising events such as the charity’s annual Awards Dinner).
10. Carry out such other relevant duties as may reasonably be required from time to time.

As Volunteer Development Officer, you will be responsible for many aspects of volunteer development such as recruitment, induction, training, retention, motivation and engagement. Reporting to the Head of Volunteer Development, your main responsibilities will include:
• Promote volunteering within the organisation
• Plan, organise and monitor volunteering activities to deliver St Andrew’s First Aid’s charitable aims
• Learning and development
• Manage volunteer conduct, addressing problems with performance and ensuring the quality of services are upheld by volunteers
• Promote productive working relationships between volunteers and other stakeholders
• Organise events involving volunteers such as meetings, seminars, forums, internal conferences, promotional events and social events
• Deal with conflict, volunteer conduct issues to mediate and resolve
• To represent the organisation as appropriate at meetings of relevant external stakeholders/organisations/partners
• Support the team in ad hoc administration duties

A vacancy for a First Aid Trainer/Assessor has arisen within the Volunteer Development Team. A highly motivated individual with strong communication skills and first aid training experience. The job holder will predominantly work from our Glasgow Training Centre will be required to travel to other parts of Scotland.
The Trainer/Assessor, reporting directly to the Head of Volunteer Development, will be responsible for the planning, co-ordination, delivery and assessment of St Andrew’s First Aid’s various first aid and related courses to volunteers. The successful applicant will also work as part of a team to review learning materials and develop new First Aid Trainer/Assessors as well as other aspects of business development.
The individual will have experience in the planning, co-ordination, delivery and assessment of large volumes of first aid courses and also hold a recognised First Aid Trainer/Assessor qualification. A recognised assessor award would also be a distinct advantage.
As this role deals solely with volunteers it will initially involve a lot of work over evenings and weekends.

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced, fully qualified (ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, CA or equivalent) and forward-thinking finance professional. Preferably with 15+ years’ experience, the successful candidate will be part of the senior management team, contributing to the strategic and operational management of the organisation and will lead and manage the finance team.
We are looking for someone who has knowledge of charity accounting and governance and relevant SORP, as well as excellent forecasting and budgeting skills.
A detailed working knowledge of database management and SAGE 200, together with Payroll and VAT expertise, will be invaluable.
Preferably from a charity environment, you will have experience in the consolidation of annual accounts and possess good communication skills.

We are striving to work in partnerships to identify and deliver unique projects to promote and improve first aid knowledge and skills throughout Scotland. Our aim is to encourage local communities to become active stakeholders in learning first aid skills. We are seeking to recruit a motivated individual to develop, drive and deliver a Community Engagement Strategy. The post holder will work with existing community groups, schools and organisations within West and Central Scotland areas, as well as identify new partners and maintain relationships with the wider local community.
This role will cover the West and Central Scotland and will involve liaison and consultation with a very diverse range of community-based interests. This will include organising meetings, events and activities with organisations and groups, e.g. small volunteer led community groups, public sector agencies, schools, local networks and volunteers); general administrative support, e.g. grant funders monitoring and reporting requirements as well as close collaboration with partners in order to promote the delivery of first aid skills and knowledge. You will also be responsible for raising awareness of St Andrew’s First Aid.
