As the Scottish SPCA launches an ambitious 10-year vision including an ambition to increase income by £3 million annually by 2032 this role plays a critical function in driving income and instilling increased loyalty from communities across Scotland.

Legacies already make up 42% of the Scottish SPCA’s income. This role is an exciting opportunity for a creative, driven, passionate and meticulous individual to support, steward and grow our pool of legacy and in-memory givers ensuring the Scottish SPCA can respond to the changing needs of animals and their owners over the next decade. The Legacy and In-Memory Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing and driving forward an exciting new strategy to engage more supporters, and give them, and loved ones, an amazing supporter experience. Working in conjunction with colleagues this role will develop new products to engage supporters and increase the number of supporters who include a gift in will or give a gift in memory of a loved one, or loved animal to the Scottish SPCA. The role will champion, and celebrate legacies and in memory giving – internally and externally – raising awareness of the importance of legacies to our work and celebrating milestones met as a result of these gifts.

The Supporter Experience Manager will plan and lead the implementation of excellent supporter experiences across the Scottish SPCA. The role will work cross-departmentally to facilitate the transformation of supporter journeys and improve the experience for supporters across all of our touchpoints in the organisation. The Scottish SPCA, Scotland’s animal welfare charity is recruiting a Supporter Care Officer to be based at its Headquarters in Dunfermline, Fife.
The Supporter Care Officer will be responsible for ensuring a high quality experience is delivered to donors across the charity to achieve income targets. The role will involve providing supporter care through a variety of channels including digitally, by phone, written communication, face to face interactions, at our animal rescue and rehoming centres and in the wider community.
Applicants will have At least 2 years’ experience in a fundraising or customer facing role; experience of developing relationships with the general public, particularly donors and volunteers; experience of organising and supporting events, talks and presentations; experience of using digital platforms for fundraising; and excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
The position is 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm, plus occasional evenings and weekends.

The main Board meets 4 times a year and, as members may be asked to support our key strategic subcommittees, such as People, Culture & Reward, Health, Safety Wellbeing & Environmental, Finance & Operating Performance, Fundraising & Brand Building and Ethics & Policy, effective chairing skills at a senior committee level are desirable.
Initial appointment is for a 4-year term with the opportunity for reappointment for a further 4 years.
