Reporting to the Head of Major Giving and Partnerships, the Major Giving Lead will be a talented networker and fundraiser, with excellent communication and influencing skills, as well as the ability to convert significant potential into meaningful supporter relationships.

Principal duties include:

  • Form meaningful strategic partnerships with corporates, which generate broad awareness-raising and complement our grassroots focus.
  • Steward and strengthen existing corporate relationships to forge long-term mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Create and develop proposals and presentations to attract new multi-year CSR grants.
  • Build and steward relationships with new supporters who are capable of making significant gifts to Mary’s Meals.
  • Support team coordination of a portfolio of major donor funding, managing existing relationships and supporting funding relationship managers to further nurture support.
  • Consider a range of research projects, events and opportunities to identify the most valuable way for donors to support our cause.
  • Recruit, manage and support a network of experienced volunteers who can help identify potential donors and develop appropriate strategies to attract new major gifts.
  • As required, plan and organise opportunities for donors to visit Mary’s Meals programmes and experience our work first-hand.
  • Work closely with the Mary’s Meals UK Communications and Mary’s Meals International Grants and Development teams.

We are delighted to be recruiting for a Grants & Development Officer to join our growing team in Glasgow. Working as part of our Affiliate Development Directorate, you will play a key role in enhancing the long-term sustainability and growth of Mary’s Meals. Supporting our National Affiliates and funding relationship managers’ to produce documents for philanthropic opportunities, partnerships, foundations and institutional donors, to meet the needs of our existing donor base and capitalise on opportunities that arise.

Reporting to our Grants & Development Manager, you will be responsible for developing compelling funding proposals and writing reports for a range of major donors. In this fast paced and varied role, you will build strong relationships with our Affiliates across the world, have the opportunity to support grant management and identify and research prospective opportunities for programme funding.

Other key duties include:

• Assisting National Affiliates in establishing a portfolio of long-term partnerships that provide sustainable income for our feeding programmes

• Collating, assessing and relaying key information for reports and proposals

• Managing deadlines for donor proposals, applications and reporting.

• Supporting the development of the Mary’s Meals suite of products and materials that communicate our strategy and attract funding, and promoting their use across the network

• Contributing to the development and coordination of organisational systems and processes for the completion of funding proposals and reports

With strong organisational skills, you will be comfortable working across multiple projects and coordinating contributions across all parts of the organisation and will have relevant experience of designing and developing compelling funding proposals. You will have fantastic writing skills with the ability to tailor your approach to a variety of audiences and bring the impact of our work, and our story, to life. You will be a confident in your communications with the ability to engage in a variety of interactions with colleagues. You will have the opportunity to work closely with colleagues across the organisation and your work will make a tangible difference to the lives of children in some of the world’s poorest communities.

Reporting to the Head of Major Giving and Partnerships, the Major Giving and Partnerships Manager will be an excellent influencer and fundraiser with the ability to convert significant potential into growth.

Principal duties include:

• Developing and delivering a major donor fundraising strategy, building relationships with new supporters and supporting existing major donors and trusts and foundations.

• Working with Mary’s Meals International’s Funding and Partnerships team to deliver effective grant management for current donors and engaging proposals and applications for potential donors.

• Devising and implementing a successful giving programme from the corporate sector and forming meaningful strategic partnerships with corporates.

• Working with the Head of Major Giving and Partnerships to set income and expenditure budgets for the Partnerships Fundraising team; maintaining accurate records, analysing financial and non-financial data to monitor and improve performance and mitigate risk.

• Acting as an ambassador of Mary’s Meals at public engagements and supporter events and, where necessary, deliver speeches or presentations to a wide range of audiences.

Supporter Care Assistant

Principal duties

You will be pivotal for the success of the shop and with the help of our volunteers can make a real difference and support our mission. Our volunteers are empowered to take over most of the tasks within the shop, including running the shop in the manager’s absence.

You will have previous retail management experience, preferably in the charity sector and a proven track record in achieving agreed goals and setting high standards, a strong drive to achieve results and accountable for shop operation. You will have excellent communication skills, creativity, people skills to deliver excellent customer service, good standard of numeracy, literacy and IT skills and experience managing people.
