We also pay sleepover hours at £9.50 per hour.

The James Shield Project provides an accommodation based housing support for young people and comprises 5 two bedroom flats each with a shared kitchen, living room and bathroom. The service is staffed by Project Workers 24 hours per day with a sleepover in operation.

Many of our young people are experiencing complex trauma, as well as secondary issues such as, self-harming behaviours, a history of alcohol and/or substance misuse, involvement in the criminal justice system, mental health difficulties, anger management issues and lack of family or social networks. They also present with low self-esteem, poor social skills, challenging behaviour and a lack of trust in others, this is consequential of their adverse childhood experiences, as well as the compounded rejection and instability they have experienced in their lives.

We are looking for 2 Project Workers and 2 dedicated Project Workers - Nights to provide practical and emotional support that involves building positive relationships with the young people. This is a fundamental part of our support, along with promoting positive role modelling.

We have an experienced and knowledgeable staff team who will provide mentor support as well as an open door policy to the management team. We offer excellent training for all staff both classroom based and learning. We have an 8 week rolling rota for Project Workers and a 2 week rolling rota for Nightshift Project Workers.

The Grants Officer role will help to transform lives of people supported by Quarriers by writing compelling, concise and convincing proposals to, and managing relationships with, a range of funders, including governmental bodies, lottery distributors, trusts and foundations, in order to maximise income for existing and new Quarriers services. The role will also involve working collaboratively with the wider Income Generation Department to provide mutual support as necessary and to optimise opportunities for developing Quarriers' business through synergies between grants and the wider team.

Quarriers has a flexible working policy, where all Head Office staff have been working from home during the COVID Pandemic. Going forward there will be a flexible approach to a mix of working from home and working in our offices in Quarriers Village.

The successful candidate has a number of key objectives and accountabilities including:

  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge base of relevant grant making opportunities and an understanding of the broader funding landscape, to ensure Quarriers can make optimal use of all relevant grant funding.
  • Work closely with Operational colleagues to encourage a steady pipeline of eligible and completive service proposals, rooted in the person-centered and outcomes-driven approaches, upon which to base funding applications.
  • Research, identify and prepare an agreed programme of proposals to a portfolio of funding schemes to meet fundraising targets and support operational priorities that are focused on meeting the expressed needs of the people supported by Quarriers and/or extending Quarriers services into new geographical areas.
  • Manage relationships with grant makers and funding schemes in order to maximise fundraising opportunities, and to ensure they have the information they require - both narrative and financial - to understand the progress of effectiveness of any grant they have made to Quarriers.

Quarriers “Lifestyle Management Project” seeks to develop a Self-Management Ethos within the clinical setting of our William Quarrier Scottish Epilepsy Centre (WQSEC). We will do this in partnership with The Thistle Foundation and a steering group comprising people we support, carers, WQSEC staff, including our in-house psychologist and wider health and care stakeholders.

Our vision is to develop culture and practices which enable people, whilst inpatients, to explore their own situation, gain insight, skills and impetus to make changes once home and in their own communities. We will use the House of Care model to build an ethos where patients can define what is important to themselves, work collaboratively with their team of healthcare workers once they leave the WQSEC.

We are looking for a part time Lifestyle Management Project Worker (24 hours) to lead the development and embedding of a new Lifestyle Management ethos within the WQSEC that promotes patient choice, engagement and effective self management. To enable patients to make positive life choices and develop self-management techniques to fulfil their potential as confident and independent individuals when back in their home community.

The Aftercare and Safeguarding team have an overview of all child protection and adult protection matters for Quarriers offering advice, guidance and support to all staff and services when required. We have responsibility to further develop already existing safeguarding good practice across Quarriers, beginning with the collection of information, consultation with key managers and staff, and a review of Adult and Child Protection policies and procedures.

We are recruiting for a Head of Aftercare and Safeguarding (35 hours) to lead and manage Quarriers safeguarding activity, supporting operational teams to ensure the people we support are safe and protected

The successful candidate will have a professional background in in Social Work, with significant experience in childcare, safeguarding and regulation. With excellent communication and presentation skills, you will have a proven track record in effective senior management with the ability to develop strong working relationships with our key stakeholders.

Glasgow North West Carers Centre provides a range of services to unpaid Carers who look after a family member or friend who is unable to manage on their own. This includes Young Carers and their families. Our Carer Support Team works directly with the Carer to help identify community supports and services to enable them to manage their caring role and to maintain their own life, health and wellbeing.

We are looking for a Carer Support Worker to join our existing team. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate commitment to working with Carers to achieve set goals, to continue professional learning and development, be a good listener, strong communicator with excellent organisational and analytical skills. You should have a firm understanding and appreciation of unpaid Carers, their role, contribution and value to the community.

We have an exciting opportunity available for an Associate Director - Property, a senior post within the organisation, reporting to the Director of Finance & Corporate Services. The property portfolio comprises an interest in around 150 properties and has a current estimated market value of around £25m.

SCOPE

This is a dynamic property portfolio subject to constant change, and the post holder will be responsible for the life cycle of property transactions from acquisitions, through the maintenance cycle and disposal. You will work with Directors, Heads of Department and staff throughout the organisation to further develop and implement the Estate Strategy and develop robust systems and processes to ensure that the property portfolio is managed effectively.

You will lead a team of one qualified Buildings Surveyor and seven trade’s personnel.

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE POST

Provide vision, leadership and management of property services across the organisation, developing and evolving the current Estate Strategy that underpins and advances the strategic objectives as set out in the Quarriers Corporate Strategy 2020-2023.

Plan, deliver and maintain a fit for purpose property infrastructure and related systems that meet the requirements of the organisation’s staff and volunteers.

Responsible for the delivery of an effective property management service to the organisation, including delivery and management of the annual maintenance programme.
