We are seeking an experienced Employment Advisor to join our Team who can:

• Achieve targets and KPI's to support clients to progress and sustain employment;

• Promote and encourage key target groups to engage in RTWS services;

• Actively manage a caseload of clients at different stages of their employability journey, provide support and access to health and well-being and training opportunities, matching to suitable vacancies and progressing into employment;

• Proactively work with clients and employers to increase the range and number of job opportunities available to clients;

• Deliver 1-2-1 and group support sessions tailored to meet customer needs;

• Provide ongoing in-work support to clients at regular intervals to meet their individual needs and support them to sustain employment.

Excellent interpersonal skills are essential for this role as is your ability to meet deadlines and ensure financial and contract compliance.

Routes to Work South (RTWS) is the lead employability provider in South Lanarkshire and provides employment support services exclusively to South Lanarkshire residents and employers.

Significant investment by the company and local stakeholders over the years has seen RTWS grow into South Lanarkshire’s employment champion, developing a first-class infrastructure through its commitment to Fair Work principles, investment in staff training and development, established delivery footprint and well-resourced employability hubs in each of South Lanarkshire’s 4 localities. This includes a strong presence in rural Clydesdale and substantial employer engagement activity that extends to the wider travel to work area.

RTWS is a national award winner achieving both a National Training Award and Scottish Working Families Business of the Year for their demand led training and commitment to flexible working and fair work practices. The Role

Our current Board has a wealth of experience and knowledge of South Lanarkshire and the sector, bringing passion and commitment to supporting RTWS staff in making our vision a reality. Working closely with the Chair, fellow RTWS Board Members and the Chief Executive, you will play a key role in contributing to the development of strategy, management of risk and overall governance of our organisation. We are looking to bring complementary skill sets and experience to our Board, and would be keen to hear from you if you have experience in the following areas:

  • Customer Service
  • Finance
  • HR
  • Quality
  • Marketing/Social Media

This position is non-remunerative (reasonable expenses will be paid) and asks for the following commitment: attendance at our full Board meetings 4 times per year (Tuesday between 5-7pm) with additional voluntary involvement in our sub-committees, also 4 times per year (Tuesday between 11am and 1pm).

• Work with clients to produce quality CVs, job applications, covering and speculative letters;

• Develop excellent knowledge of the local labour market to inform training delivery;

• Monitor and evaluate group delivery and support to maximise client outcomes and meet employer needs;

• Deliver and maintain a quality service at all times in line with RTWS Customer Service Standards Policy and Procedures.

Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills are essential for this role as is a willingness to be creative and contribute to the continuous improvement of service delivery.

The role of Deputy Chief Executive has been created specifically to lead and secure Routes to Work South’s operational delivery and help develop and drive the company’s recovery and growth strategy with the rest of the management team.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced manager who will:

  • Recognise the need for strategic influencing and develop powerful and sustainable relationships with key internal individuals and external stakeholders;
  • Give confidence to commissioners and wider stakeholders around our operational performance whilst engaging staff in contributing to our ongoing development;
  • Drive forward operational excellence whilst always delivering and maintaining a quality service that enhances the customer experience.

The post holder will also deputise for the Chief Executive as appropriate.
