MELD is a community based substance misuse agency providing recovery based services in Midlothian and East Lothian.

MELD is looking for a highly self-motivated individual who has the ability to lead a small administrative team and work on their own initiative. Applicants should have excellent communication skills, good attention to detail and be confident in planning workloads often with conflicting priorities.

The successful candidate will have excellent IT skills with a good working knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) databases.

Applicants must have proven leadership skills and a positive attitude towards, and commitment to, the rights of people with substance misuse problems.

Family Support Worker

MELD is looking for a Family Support Worker to offer one to one support and group work in East Lothian to family, friends and significant others affected by someone’s drug or alcohol misuse.

A qualification in Health, Education, Social Work or Counselling with demonstrable experience of working with substance misusing clients or their families and an ability to work in a flexible manner are essential criteria.

Substance Misuse Worker

MELD is a community based substance misuse agency providing recovery based services in Midlothian and East Lothian.

MELD is looking for a highly motivated individual who is committed to providing services for individuals with substance misuse issues and who can work effectively as part of a small team and in partnership with statutory services. You will be expected to provide advice, information and support to individuals who are experiencing difficulties with substance misuse and related issues.

A qualification in Health, Education, Social Work or Counselling with demonstrable experience of working with clients who have difficulties with substance misuse, an ability to work in a flexible manner and adhere to a recovery focussed approach and a full driving licence and own transport are essential criteria.
