The Climate Action Officer will play a key role in advocating for climate action and sustainability, and will be responsible for developing and delivering a Climate Action Programme within the Trust’s Climate Action Hub.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with the local community to promote positive climate action as supported by the Climate Action Fund programme. The Climate Action Officer will be involved with assisting and motivating community groups to identify relevant initiatives which will contribute to meeting local and national climate targets, and building awareness of the climate impact.
They will have the ability, drive and vision to engage and support the public to take climate action. They will support to empower those beginning and those already participating in climate action.
The main purpose of the role is to provide a comprehensive service in relation to compliance requirements across the delivery of Trust contracted services, namely the Employability Contract and other similar projects as required. Based within a small team you will work closely with the senior database and compliance worker to assess and verify compliance paperwork ensuring clear communications both written and oral at all levels, whilst adhering to general data protection regulations (GDPR 2018 onwards).
Purpose of the job
The main purpose in this role is to deliver a range of employability skills, personal development and capacity building courses to unemployed clients which will ultimately support them in their goal of securing long term sustainable employment. This role involves working as part of a team, enabling individuals to develop the key skills that will make a real difference to their lives and their future employment. Engaging motivating and inspiring small and large groups of clients with different learning styles and needs in both short sharp sessions and longer course type training. Training is delivered to a high level of competency in order to achieve performance targets and linking with all teams across the Trust.
Person Profile
You will have experience of working with people with a diverse range of employment support needs. With excellent facilitation skills, strong knowledge of group work and group dynamics you will be aware of the barriers people face, including poor health, childcare and caring responsibilities, debt, addiction and offending behaviour. You will be organised and methodical in developing training sessions/plans along with experience of managing groups, resources and materials. You will be a proven team player with creativity and enthusiasm for training. You will motivate, inspire and engage large groups of clients with different learning styles and needs. You will be an excellent communicator and motivator, confident and self-motivated, and have a passion for working with people to help them achieve their full potential.
This role of the Employability Services Manager is to manage all aspects of the Employability Services Contract relating to the Training and Employability Services within the organisation. The ESM acts as an ambassador across a wide range of relationships on behalf of the Trust, assisting the CEO in sustaining the organisation and ensuring its long-term viability. Work plans will be agreed in conjunction with the CEO to ensure key activities and targeted outcomes are in line with current contract parameters and regular reviews take place to ensure a proactive approach at all times.
JOB PURPOSE
The main purpose of this role will be to provide administrative support in all matters associated with service delivery across the Trust to support front line staff and managers in delivery of services. This will require you to deliver a full range of administrative activities maintaining/updating Trust database systems, digital diary management, customer service include covering frontline reception, facilitating visitor and trainee enquiries, filing, and maintaining other office systems including petty cash. A wide range of communication with clients and other staff across the Trust will be an integral part of the role.
KEY TASKS
Administrative support as directed by the relevant line manager. Ensuring that all administration provision delivered is quality assured & compliant with specific regard to issues of confidentiality and accuracy. This can include all or some of the activities listed below. On the job training/support will be provided to complete tasks as part of this role.

The focus of this role is to implement and proactively monitor work plans for the Employment Support and Training Team to maximise contract performance. The role requires a proactive approach that ensures that staff know what is expected of them and that they work effectively to achieve performance targets.
To manage The Trust’s various community programmes and projects, including our hub at 7 ½ John Wood Street, to fulfil our objectives as a community development trust and our employability service.
