Healthy Valleys in partnership with NHS Lanarkshire requires to recruit the above post to develop and enhance the LWMS.
Working as part of the LWMS, the post holder will develop Healthy Schools Plus and the family engagement service arm of the Healthy Schools approach throughout Lanarkshire. Healthy Schools Plus delivers a framework for teachers, which outlines an approach to addressing unhealthy weight gain in childhood by guiding the planning, tracking & monitoring and evaluation of Health & Wellbeing education, based on Food & Health, Active Lifestyle and Healthy Lifestyle contexts for learning. Family involvement is essential to maximise programme opportunities and offer support to their children. The post will therefore focus on aligning existing community health & wellbeing programmes with the Healthy Schools Plus approach and engage families into these services.
Additionally, developing and co-ordinating projects within the LWMS, the post holder will also work in conjunction with NHS Lanarkshire and Healthy Valleys to ensure the successful delivery of the strategic vision for both organisations. This will include creating and developing effective partnerships, maintaining internal relationships as well as overseeing commissioned services.
The post is subject to a PVG Disclosure Scotland check and the successful candidate will be based at Law House, Carluke, ML8 5EP. All applicants must have access to their own transport, have a clean driving license and business insurance.

To support and deliver the Resilient Families programme which will work with disadvantaged and isolated families with children under five who are experiencing complex and challenging circumstances. Resilient Families will include a range of health and wellbeing, educational, counselling, and intensive support activities. The project worker will help parents develop the knowledge, skills, resilience and confidence they need to manage their circumstances and they will ensure all activities run safely and efficiently and follow the aims and objectives of Healthy Valleys.
