Sessional Supervised Contact Worker

Based at Child Contact Centre at Moredun, Edinburgh, and Family Mediation Lothian’s offices

The Supervised Contact Worker’s role is to supervise and support one-to-one contact between a child and their parent and prepare an observational report.

We are looking for someone with experience of direct work with children and families and a sound educational background/relevant professional qualifications in the area.

Intake Worker

We are looking for someone with experience of direct work with children and families and a sound educational background/relevant professional qualifications in the area.

The role of the intake worker is to facilitate a one to one confidential meeting during which information will be gathered and given, enabling the client to make an informed decision about using any of FML’s services. The meeting also enables the intake worker to assess the appropriateness of FML services for the client.

Family Mediation Lothian (FML) has been providing help and support for families who are experiencing difficulties as result of separation, divorce or family break up for over 30 years. The highly accessible range of services we offer include family mediation and child contact service for parents, children, young people and extended family members living in Edinburgh, Midlothian, West Lothian and East Lothian. Our role is to minimise the negative effects of family break up and, where possible, prevent them from happening at all.

We are currently looking for a Director who will: -

  • Provide direction and leadership in the development and implementation of the organisation’s vision, strategic aims and annual objectives as agreed by the Board;
  • Take overall responsibility for service delivery, staff management and the effective and efficient running of the organisation, (day to day management of the services is delegated to the mediation and child contact managers).

As the demand for our services increases, we are looking for someone with leadership and management experience who is confident and motivated, with excellent people skills. The post will be based in Edinburgh with some travel across the Lothians. There will be some occasional evening work required.
