Do you want to create a brighter future for kinship care families in Scotland?
Children First, Scotland’s national children’s charity, is seeking to appoint a marketing officer to support us in the delivery of the Kinship Care Support Service for Scotland.
By joining our team, you will help us make sure that kinship families have all the support they need to keep their children safe, support them to recover from traumatic experiences and to celebrate the very special role that kinship carers play in children’s lives.
The role is an exciting opportunity to grow engagement with our national support line and raise awareness of the ways we can help kinship carers, locally and nationally.

Development of the website and organising events and webinars to support kinship care families and professionals will be your top priority. You’ll have the exciting opportunity to shape and grow Scotland’s Kinship Care Week celebrations to make these a truly national event.
We would expect the successful candidate to be an experienced marketing professional with a least two years’ experience in a similar role.
As well as a rewarding career and development opportunities, we offer 40 days annual leave per year, a contributory pension scheme, generous maternity/adoption and paternity leave, flexible working opportunities and wellbeing support. You’ll be part of a supportive and inclusive working environment, with a generous salary of between £30,002 - £35,076 (pro-rata).
Living our values, you will make a direct impact on the lives of children across Scotland. With love, we put children first. With purpose, we transform children’s lives together. With strength, we do whatever it takes to protect Scotland’s children.
We believe all children should have hopes, dreams and opportunities. For children in kinship care, life can be amazing but it can also bring significant extra challenges. Do you have what it takes to join our team and help kinship care children to enjoy a safer, happier, brighter future? We would love to hear from you.
Are you an experienced debt advisor – we want to hear from you!
This is an exciting opportunity to work within our Inverclyde Team as part of our Financial Wellbeing Advice delivery and supporting our additional services across the charity.
Our Financial Wellbeing Service works alongside families to address the challenges and risks which may have led to vulnerability, promote connection to their local communities, and improve financial stability and resilience. Our aim is to support communities to become more resilient and a place where children feel safe, valued, understood and supported.
The Financial Wellbeing Advisor will work across Inverclyde offering support, community connection, and expert benefit, energy and debt advice. This will enable families to resolve debt and money problems, become more financially resilient and break the cycle of poverty.
A priority for the Financial Wellbeing Advisor will be to increase the capacity of our current service to provide Type I and II Financial Wellbeing in one of the most deprived areas in Scotland.
You will work as part of our National Financial Wellbeing Team, offering remote advice to families across Scotland by telephone or webchat. You will support families within their homes, deliver workshops within the community and in schools, and offer drop-in sessions within the community.
If you have experience of delivering money, welfare benefits and debt advice, understand the impact trauma and adversity can have on children and families, and believe that you can apply this to your practice, we want to hear from you.
