This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic candidate seeking a challenge to join our busy, friendly and supportive team. The postholder will lead on the development and delivery of Changes Groups, Courses, and Volunteer Project. The role includes line management of a small team of staff and will include sourcing and liaising with freelance workers. The postholder will ensure effective monitoring and evaluation of activities and lead on new developments based on identified needs.

The role will include some facilitation of groups/courses as is the case for all staff. Community engagement and partnership building will be a key aspect of this role.

The appointment of a Project Development Coordinator comes at a time of development for our team and the postholder will be a part of this exciting change as we venture into some new avenues. We anticipate the role will evolve over time. Volunteer Coordination, including recruitment and support and supervision of volunteers will initially be a key focus, though as the role progresses, we aim to secure funding to appoint a Volunteer Coordinator.

Counsellor (Male)*

This is an exciting time for Changes Therapy service. Growing demand for therapy has resulted in longer wait times. Additional funding now allows us to expand our provision and support people to access therapy more quickly. We anticipate appointing several part time Counsellors and welcome applications from qualified therapists passionate about mental health, wellbeing, and community, with an appetite for teamwork. The successful candidate will provide 1-1 counselling within a short-term model, carry out counselling consultations, write referrals, reports and undertake administrative tasks relating to client work. They will play an active role as a member of the Changes team, contributing ideas and input to support the development of Changes wider services.

This is an exciting time for Changes with many new activities and organisational developments, enabling us to increase our reach and provide support to those who need it most. The new role of Office Manager provides an opportunity for a talented individual to support and strengthen our work, as a key player both behind the scenes ensuring effective systems and processes are in place and operating smoothly, and public facing, ensuring everyone who contacts Changes receives a warm, supportive welcome and can access the information / support required. Based in Musselburgh, with some home-based working, the post-holder will work closely with Senior Management and the wider Changes team to ensure smooth and effective day to day operations. The post-holder will play an active role as a member of the Changes team, contributing ideas and input to support the development of Changes wider services.

As this is a new role and part of a wider restructuring of our administration team and systems (note: the post holder will be an addition to the team, no posts have been made redundant) the post will be reviewed and is subject to change at the end of the fixed term. The intention is that this will become a core post, subject to funding.

Befriending Coordinator

Job Overview:

Changes are excited to have secured funding from the National Lottery Community Fund to set up and deliver ‘Well Connected’ a befriending programme supporting positive mental health and wellbeing. The befriending coordinated will be responsible for all aspects of the project, from designing and launching the service to its implementation and evaluation. The postholder will set up an Advisory Group to ensure the project is driven by the desires and demands of the community. The success of this new project will influence our ability to secure continued funding beyond the initial three years. We expect the postholder to take an active role in year 3 in seeking funding to enable the project to continue in the longer term.

This is a new role, introduced at an exciting time for Changes as we expand our team and increase and develop our service provisions. We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated candidate who is confident working with a high degree of autonomy in getting this new project off the ground and ensuring it’s success.

The new role of Volunteer Recruitment Officer provides an opportunity for a talented individual to support and strengthen our work, as an organisation who actively involves volunteers. Based in Musselburgh, with some home-based working, the post-holder will work closely with the Project Development Coordinator, Project Staff and the wider Changes team to ensure smooth and effective operations around all volunteer input and best practices are upheld. The post-holder will develop new and robust systems for tracking our volunteers journey, attend appropriate events to recruit volunteers, run induction training, seek out other appropriate training opportunities and support project staff to host regular group supervision.

Groupwork Therapist

We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated candidate who is confident working with a high degree of autonomy in the design, development and implementation of Changes expanding groupwork provision. The postholder will play a key role in shaping the groupwork service, piloting, and evaluating new groups and courses.
