Support Worker - Young Adult Carers

The Carers Centre is a growing and forward-thinking organisation with ambition to support an increasing number of children, young people and adults who provide unpaid care for a family member or friend due to disability, illness, addiction, or frailty.

We currently have the following exciting new post to fill in our Young Carers Project:

Support Worker - Young Adult Carers (35 hours) – Using funding from the Carers Trust ‘Making Carers Count’ programme, you will develop and provide a dedicated and age-appropriate information support service, offering involvement opportunities to Young Adult Carers across Falkirk and Clackmannanshire. This post is funded until March 2023, however it is hoped that further funding will be made available to extend the role beyond this date.

Applicants will need to evidence an understanding of the needs and difficulties faced by young adult carers and the importance of the support provided to them.

This role will have a starting salary of £23787 p.a. This role will require PVG Scheme membership.

We have the following temporary 8-month post to cover a member of the team’s maternity leave:

Young Carers Worker (35 hours) - To support young carers to identify their needs, develop a Young Carers Statement and provide any support identified by the young carer to ensure they are protected from undertaking caring responsibilities and tasks which are inappropriate, having regards to their age and maturity.

Applicants will need to evidence an understanding of the needs and difficulties faced by young carers and young adult carers and the importance of the support provided to them.

Role requires PVG Scheme membership.

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated team of workers who deliver information, support, and involvement services for carers of all ages across Falkirk district and Clackmannanshire.

The post holder will work closely with individual carers to help them to access the information and support they need for their caring role. This will require a commitment to partnership working and an understanding of the needs and difficulties faced by carers and the importance of the support provided to them.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and motivated, have good interpersonal skills and the ability to use their own initiative whilst contributing effectively within a team.

This is a pivotal role in our organisation, as the post-holder will be the first point of contact for the many carers and professionals who contact the Carers Centre. In addition, the provision of quality office and admin support is essential to support the staff team to deliver services for carers.

Applicants will be required to demonstrate good interpersonal skills, enthusiasm, and the ability to use their own initiative whilst contributing effectively within a team. Sound knowledge and experience of Microsoft 365 and using a database are essential.

Telephone Support Worker x 2

The Carers Centre is a growing and forward-thinking organisation with ambition to support an increasing number of children, young people and adults who provide unpaid care for a family member or friend due to disability, illness, addiction, or frailty.

Funding from the Falkirk Health & Social Care Partnership has enabled us to recruit an additional two full-time workers to enhance the support provided by the Adult Carer Support Team in Falkirk. As well as providing emotional support and information, the successful candidates will review the effectiveness of any support provided to carers to ensure it is meeting the required outcomes.

Applicants will need to evidence an understanding of the needs and difficulties faced by carers and the importance of the support provided to them. As these posts will be home-based, candidates will also need to demonstrate initiative and the ability to organise their workload.
