Carer Support Worker

Carers of East Lothian is the leading local support organisation for people who are looking after friends or family who are frail, disabled or who have chronic health problems. We have an excellent reputation and are now looking to recruit a new Carer Support Worker to join our committed team. You should have a good understanding of health and social care issues and services, experience of providing person centred support and a real commitment to supporting carers to achieve the outcomes they prioritise. You must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be comfortable in the use of IT and have the ability to organise and manage a complex caseload. In return we offer a good salary, very flexible working arrangements and a chance to make a real difference to peoples’ lives. PVG scheme membership is essential as is the ability to drive and access to a car. The post will be based in CoEL’s new offices in the East Lothian Community Hospital in Haddington.

Carer Support Worker (Parent Carers)

Carers of East Lothian (CoEL) is the leading local support organisation for people who are looking after friends or family who are frail, disabled or who have chronic health problems. We have an excellent reputation and are looking to further develop our committed team and the support we offer carers.

You will be responsible for providing person centred support primarily for parents caring for children with additional support needs.

The post requires a good understanding of health, additional support for education and social care issues along with experience of and a real commitment to supporting people to achieve the outcomes they prioritise. You must also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be comfortable in the use of IT and have the ability to organise and manage a complex workload. In return we offer a good salary, very flexible working arrangements and a chance to make a real difference to peoples’ lives. PVG scheme membership is essential as is the ability to drive and access to a car. This post is funded for one year initially but with the expectation that they will be extended. CoEL is based in Musselburgh but moving to offices in the new Community Hospital in Haddington in September.

Carer Counselling Coordinator

You will be responsible for setting up and coordinating a new counselling support service for carers as well direct provision of counselling. The post requires a good understanding of health and social care issues, considerable experience of providing person centre counselling and ideally of leading such a service. You must also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be comfortable in the use of IT and have the ability to organise and manage a complex workload. In return we offer a good salary, very flexible working arrangements and a chance to make a real difference to peoples’ lives. PVG scheme membership is essential. This post is funded for one year initially but with the expectation that they will be extended.
