Care and Repair Edinburgh Ltd provides services for older and disabled people to help them improve, repair and maintain their homes, and to remain independent as long as possible.
Care and Repair Edinburgh is an independent charity and is part of the Age Scotland family. We are part of the Age Scotland Independent Living services designed to help people live independently for as long as possible and are able.
We offer a range of practical services to help people repair, improve or adapt their homes so that they may remain in their own homes in comfort and independence for as long as possible.
Care & Repair Edinburgh have been serving Edinburgh’s older and disabled residents since 1985 and complete over 5,000 jobs every year in homes across the city.
The success of the service has seen the Charity go from strength to strength and is a financially stable and viable organisation.
We are now looking to recruit new Trustees with a particular range of skills and experience to support the direction of the organisation. Candidates skilled in the areas of Third Sector leadership, Diversity Championing, Social Care or Hospital Discharge would be of particular interest.
We also welcome candidates who do not have board room experience. Full induction and training will be provided.
As a Trustee Board Member, you will be responsible for the strategic direction, control and accountability of the Charity ensuring that its activities are in the interests of its beneficiaries and to ensure that the organisation complies with its governing document, charity law, company law and any other relevant legislation or regulations.
A time commitment of around 1 day per month is required. The Board currently meets 4 times a year (February, May, August and November) in Edinburgh.
These posts are not remunerated but reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.
