ProjectChange was founded in February 2020 to help build a care community in Scotland. It was founded by people with experience of the care system and those that work and live around the care system. It seeks to use the collective might of everyone who cares about care to create a diverse, inclusive, and powerful community.
ProjectChange is looking for a development officer to help it grow and thrive in the next stage of the charity by taking on and leading our first big output for the care community – the voices toolkit.
The voices toolkit is a series of empowerment resources for individuals, designed to be self-led, providing the tools for members of the community to use their expertise safely and powerfully. The ultimate aim is for people with care experience (and others with different lived experiences) to have the confidence and skills to be part of a community of change-makers who will be empowered to engage in conversations about language, identity and belonging and help to reframe the narrative of care.
The development officer will work in partnership with a steering group, made up of a series of individuals and organisations who have been developing the toolkit for the past year.
Internally the development officer will help nurture and grow ProjectChange with ideas, thoughts, and creativity as we approach our next big junction. This role will be key to helping us continue creating a new direction for the care community.
The successful applicant will have shared responsibility for finalising the design and output of the toolkit in partnership with the steering group. This will result directly in delivering it to people with care experience, those interested in care and other organisations within the wider sector - such as delivering direct training and support sessions to users of the toolkit.
The post is currently funded for 12 months from start date, but subsequent funding is being explored to continue the post after this.
