Our aim is to use the local community passion for sport and football, offering a range of programmes and activities to encourage learning and promote healthy lifestyles that will make a real difference to the lives of people in our local community in providing valuable community support and outreach within the Stockport and surrounding area.

Stockport County Community Trust is the official charitable arm of Stockport County FC. Their aim is to use the local community’s passion for sport and football by offering a range of programmes and activities to encourage learning and promote healthy lifestyles to the community and surrounding areas.

The Trust is a vibrant and active community organisation which aims to support children, adults, senior citizens and families across Stockport, Greater Manchester, Tameside, High Peak and East Cheshire. They engage and support people of all ages by offering sports participation projects, social inclusion, health and wellbeing and disability provision, all delivered in a fun and friendly environment.

Having successfully achieved charitable status in 2021, the aim for the Trust is to reach even more people and increase the role they play in the local community.

The Board of Trustees is now looking for an exceptional individual to provide the leadership required to drive the charity into the next exciting stage of its development. As well as ensuring the organisation meets its charitable objectives and is fully compliant with its legal obligations, the next Chief Executive will need to be a highly experienced project and people manager, strategic as well as operational, have excellent commercial and business acumen as well as superb negotiating, influencing and stakeholder management skills. While not essential, an interest in football and experience of running a third sector organisation may be an advantage.

We are looking for someone that is highly experienced in income generation and fundraising, with proven success in research, completing and managing complex grants and funding. You should be an excellent communicator and have the ability to motivate donors, volunteers and staff.
