Business Development Manager

Remade Network is a social enterprise training and campaigning for reuse and repair based in Glasgow. We are building a repair economy through a community-led approach which challenges consumerism, creates local jobs and builds new markets in repair services.

In July 2020 we launched the first ‘Repair Stop’, a pop-up repair and reuse hub in the Southside of Glasgow, offering repairs of tech, electronic and textile items to help customers to reject throw-away culture. We are now expanding as we prepare for a move to a new high-street location on Victoria Road in Govanhill.

We also run a successful desktop distribution project, refurbishing computers donated by Glasgow City Council to support vulnerable people and groups across Glasgow, supported by the Scottish Government.

We are now seeking to recruit a mature, experienced Business Development Manager to join our committed and friendly team. You will increase our business sales, develop our retail offer, and support and manage our growing team to achieve our targets for positive social, environmental and financial impact. Salary is in line with Remade Network’s pay scales and dependent on experience.

Key Tasks:

● Setting and achieving targets for sales and business growth

● Line management of the team, including performance reviews and appraisals

● Working with stakeholders to progress key partnerships

● Overseeing and updating key legal and contractual documentation

● Ensuring strong-record keeping in place across the organisation

Key Competencies:

● A strong commitment to and affinity with Remade Network’s values and ethos

Project Manager

Remade Network was established to build a ‘repair economy’ from the ground up. We are a social enterprise promoting, training and campaigning for reuse and repair, selling refurbished tech, and distributing devices to people who need them.

Remade Network is looking for an experienced project manager to support the delivery of an exciting and ambitious UK Government funded project to build a repair economy in Glasgow. This will work with community partners across Glasgow to set up repair facilities, digital inclusion projects, and a new training programme for repair skills for young people.

You will ensure the smooth running of the project to ensure deliverables are met, convening meetings with community partners, supporting the project evaluation, and reporting to funders and key stakeholders.

Key Tasks:

  • Ensuring project deliverables are met by key deadlines
  • Securing quotes from contractors to source contractors or supplies
  • Liaising with and supporting project partners
  • Setting up monthly stakeholder meetings
  • Preparing project and financial reports for Glasgow City Council
  • Setting up monitoring and evaluation systems and supporting project partners to report on these
  • Overseeing the work of the project administrator
  • Raising and mitigating risks to ensure the project is delivered successfully

Finance Assistant

Remade Network is a growing social enterprise that runs repair shops and kiosks, delivers digital inclusion projects, and offers a training programme for young people in repair skills through its repair academy.

We are looking for a self-motivated and well organised individual with experience in administration to run our day to day financial administration, with support from our team of accountants. This role will largely be based from home, however you may be required to make occasional trips to the office and if preferred you can work permanently from the office.

The candidate will need to have the skills to accurately maintain our computer-based finance records. You will need to have excellent verbal and interpersonal skills, a strong grasp on finance, IT skills and already be familiar with spreadsheets, email and MS Office. Ideally, you will have experience of using Xero or other accounting software, however this is subject to the individual application.

Role Responsibilities

- Processing payments

- Generating invoices

- Filing invoices

- Liasing with staff to process payments

- Working with accountants to produce monthly and annual reports

- Submitting financial claims

- Ensuring timely financial reporting on funding bids

Electrical Technician

Remade Network is a social enterprise training and campaigning for reuse and repair. We believe in a community-led approach to building a repair economy in Scotland which challenges consumerism, creates local jobs and builds markets in repair education.

This is an essential practical role that involves repairing small household electrical goods from lamps, kettles and toasters to hoovers and audio equipment. You should have a good understanding of how household devices are engineered and a willingness to learn on the job.

You will work across our projects carrying out repairs of our customer items and refurbishments of electrical devices with a view to putting them back into circulation. This role also involves serving customers, keeping excellent records, and working across all areas of the business operations. Some training will be available.
