Gambling Treatment Practitioner

GamCare is the UK’s leading provider of information, advice and support for anyone affected by gambling-related harms.

GamCare is now looking to recruit a Gambling Treatment Practitioner to work within our new problem gambling treatment service in Edinburgh. The post holder will be required to work in partnership with GamCare’s partner agency RCA Trust, who are proving gambling treatment in other areas of Scotland.

You will be working with problem gamblers and others affected by problem gambling to support them in reaching their recovery goals.

Key Responsibilities include:

· Providing face to face and telephone advice, assessment, brief or structured interventions and group programmes to help clients achieve their recovery goals;

· Providing case management and working within an integrated care pathway;

· Ensuring safeguarding issues are managed effectively.

· Work in partnership with local services

You should have significant experience in individual client work in the field of addictions, mental health or a social care setting with adults or young people. You should be flexible in using a range of low and high-intensity interventions and modalities including Cognitive Behavioural (CBT) tools.

You will form part of an enthusiastic clinical treatment team working from several locations across Scotland, London, Home Counties and Lincoln as well as online. You should be versatile and adaptable and committed to on-going development.

We are looking for individuals to work full time which include weekend and evenings.

GamCare is now looking to recruit Treatment Practitioners to work within our new problem gambling treatment services within the Central Belt. This service will work closely with The RCA Trust, our partner which provides gambling treatment in other areas of Scotland.

Team Leader (Clinical Services)

Our treatment services provide face-to-face, online, telephone, individual and group-based treatment.

We are delighted to be seeking a full-time Team Leader to manage our new service in the Central Belt. This position is integral in the leadership and management of the team in delivering effective, safe, and responsive interventions to people experiencing problems with gambling and people affected by another person’s gambling. This service will work closely with The RCA Trust, our partner which provides gambling treatment in other areas of Scotland.

This role requires applicants to

  • Provide safe and effective day to day operational management of the services and practitioners remotely
  • Have experience of managing staff
  • Provide strong leadership, individual and group supervision to staff
  • Have experience of working with vulnerable/complex client cohorts
  • Be able to perform well in a busy and demanding working environment
  • Have a good understanding of performance management, case management and quality assurance measures
  • Be well organised and able to meet deadlines
  • Be passionate in ensuring service users are at the heart of what we do
  • Have excellent collaborative partnership skills
  • Manage teams across Edinburgh and Glasgow
