We help young adults with additional support needs to realise their potential by providing person centred education, life and social skills.

We are currently expanding our services across Edinburgh and East Lothian and we are looking for passionate people who want to make a difference to join our Project Worker Team. You will work alongside our Centre Manger, the Education Team and Senior Project Workers to provide support and development for our students, each of whom have their own special talents and support needs. You will be able to inspire the people you work with, make a difference in their life and enhance their skills to enable them to reach their fullest potential.

Teens+ provides post school education and lifelong learning services for young people with complex communication needs including autism and learning disabilities. Based in two centres in Edinburgh (Liberton Brae and Ravenscroft), the service is person centred and individualised to ensure each student, regardless of needs, can reach their fullest potential.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Education Tutor to join our Multi-Disciplinary Team in TEENS+.

You will work closely with the other Education Tutors, Speech & Language Therapist, Team Leaders and Project Workers to develop Individual Learning Plans for our students, monitor their progress and manage outcomes. You will also be working closely with the students we support, their families and other external agencies, as well as supporting and coaching Project Workers to deliver education programmes to the students.

You will have previous experience in working with adults with additional supporting needs. Background in education is an advantage but not essential. For us, it’s not so much about what you know, but your attitude and values that are most important. We will provide full training on what you need to know, but you must be able to live our values:

Teens+ (Transitional Education Extra Needs Support) provide a service for young people with complex communication needs, autism & its complexities, and behaviours that challenge traditional services. Our primary goal is to help individuals achieve their full potential through gentle, lifelong learning. Our Transitional Education service is designed to assist young adults who are not quite ready to take the step into post school education, work or to a new home. We also provide a befriending service out with the normal hours of our service operation which is tailor made to each student’s needs.

We are now seeking an individual to join the Senior Management Team, ensuring that we provide high-quality education and social care to our students. Reporting to the CEO, the role will be responsible for developing and delivering the services in line with our person-centred education ethos. The Head of Service will be the Registered Manager and will work closely with our new Chief Executive Officer to develop and deliver new projects that meet our aspirations for growth.

You will be a pro-active leader with a track record in managing Multi-Disciplinary Teams. You will be values oriented with strong stakeholder management skills and in-depth knowledge of social care and the Scottish regulatory framework. The ideal candidate will also have experience of leading teams through change in a positive and constructive manner. This is an exciting time to join TEENS+ as we embark on our next stages of development.

New Support and Community Access Manager

Liberton Brae is our transition centre and Ravenscroft is our lifelong learning centre.

Purpose of the role!

Under the guidance of the Head of Service the New Support and Community Access Manager will take an active lead on the assessment and transition of all new students into the Teens+ services.

You will establish a Community Access befriending service that maintains a focus on educational development with our students.

You will work with the Speech and Language Therapist to develop a core understanding of each students sensory and communication needs.

Who are we looking for?

The successful applicant will have proven experience of working with adults with additional support needs using a person-centred approach.

You will also be a motivating and inspirational leader, and be skilled at encouraging and supporting teams of staff to deliver effective person-centred support for our students.

You will be enthusiastic and self-motivated, and must be able to work on your own initiative.

The successful applicants will require membership of the PVG (Protection of Vulnerable Groups) Scheme.
