Bon Accord Care is at the forefront of the continuing development of services to enable independence and reduce hospital admissions, as well as promote active ageing and well-being. Working together with our key partners, we are aligned with the Aberdeen City Health and Social Care Partnership to deliver services in the local communities of north, central, west and south. We are learning all the time to seek ways to improve and develop new services, ensuring that these reflect the needs of our local communities. These services are designed to reduce future dependence on statutory services, aimed at prevention and early intervention. As a Local Authority Trading Company, we are the first of our kind in Scotland and operate within a contractual framework to deliver services on behalf of Aberdeen City Council, the only shareholder. We are a values led company, which aligns a public sector ethos with a private sector discipline, with a strong social conscience. Comprising of two companies, Bon Accord Care Ltd and Bon Accord Support Services Ltd, we started trading on August 1st 2013.

Reporting to the Chair of the Board, and to the Board of Directors, you will provide strategic and inspirational leadership and direction to the Senior Management team to ensure that we achieve the outcomes set out in the Strategic Plan in the context of a changing adult social care market. You’ll direct the development and growth of new commercial services to adults which focus on choice and control for service users / customers and seek out further opportunities for the integration of health and social care services in the City of Aberdeen.

Delivery of the Strategic Plan will require integrated working with all our partners across the city and beyond. This is a time for change and, in partnership with Aberdeen City Council and the Aberdeen City Health and Social Care Partnership, we can create the optimum environment required to deliver better outcomes in health and social care for the people of Aberdeen. These ambitions will be achieved through our committed workforce and with our partners at all levels. It is, therefore, an important and exciting time to join us.

Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline, you’ll come to us with a strong track record and demonstrable experience of leading an organisation or business area delivering a complex range of activities, ideally within a health or social care environment. You’ll also have demonstrable budgetary and performance management experience as well as experience of decision making in a complex environment.
