Communications Officer

We work with the human rights sector and tech industry to increase their capacity to harness technologies to empower the most marginalised, supporting robust and inclusive democracies. We seek to engage, educate, challenge and inspire the tech sector ensuring future coders put respect for human rights at the heart of their work.

We are recruiting a Communications Officer to support the team in delivering the Foundation’s vision and mission.


As a recently established Foundation we are looking to recruit a proactive and creative Communications Officer to assist us in building the reach and impact of our three programmes: Research, Education and Grant Making/Training. You will have a highly varied role, working with internal and external stakeholders to build our profile, managing our social media while also supporting the day-to-day running of the Grant programme.

Principle Responsibilities

Communications, Marketing & Networking (80% of role)

  • Develop our communications strategy.
  • Create and manage social media content and build our online network.
  • Maintain our website.
  • Design necessary promotional material and project resources.
  • Responsively manage queries.
  • DADI Foundation is currently registering with the Charity Commission

Grants Administration (15%)

  • Support the team to review and assess grant applications including carrying out due diligence checks on prospective grantees.
  • Assist in grant management including monitoring and evaluation.

Other (5%)

  • Day-to-day administration.

Person Specification

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Experience in developing digital communication and social media strategies and content
  • (Essential).
  • Knowledge of design software and an eye for visually compelling content (Essential).
  • Dynamic and persuasive communication skills, written and oral (Essential).
  • Track record in effective management of work-time and delivery of high quality outputs on time
  • (Essential).
  • Evidence of developing and maintaining networks and building relationships (Desirable).
  • Experience of public speaking and/or speaking to the media (Desirable).
  • Experience of working in or with the charity sector (Desirable).

Personal Qualities

  • Self-motivated, independent (Essential).
  • A flexible and dynamic approach to work (Essential).
  • Commitment to the advancement of Human Rights (Essential).
  • Interest in the field of tech for good (Essential).
  • Ability to work with diverse stakeholders (Essential).

Additional Information

The role may require very occasional International travel.
