Screen Education Edinburgh is a charity dedicated to transforming lives through the medium of film, developing young people, new talent and independent filmmakers. Our programmes operate across Edinburgh and South East Scotland, with a special focus on the most disadvantaged communities, teaching filmmaking and digital media skills and fostering confidence, self-esteem and a strong team ethic.

Screen Education Edinburgh is a centre of excellence for the study and production of film for young people, adult learners, communities and independent filmmakers from all backgrounds, with a passion for nurturing creativity and artistic expression, raising levels of attainment and aspiration. We exist to develop skills, knowledge and passion in filmmaking for all, with a specific focus on nurturing those traditionally excluded from film activity, be that cinema engagement, production or representation on screen.

Screen Education Edinburgh, City of Edinburgh Council, Into Film and Centre for the Moving Image are working in partnership to design and deliver a comprehensive programme of film education to teachers and pupils in schools run by the City of Edinburgh Council. This opportunity is open to primary, secondary and special schools.

As a project co-ordinator you will be responsible for school engagement, recruitment, partnership management, programme marketing, evaluation and have an oversight of the strategical management of the programme. You will also be responsible for the development and delivery of three 1-day celebratory events.

Applicants should have demonstrable experience of project management within a community and/or educational setting.

As a film education tutor, you will be part of a team developing and delivering this comprehensive film education experience. The programme of practical learning will include the watching and understanding of film as well as the production of a short film. There is a strong focus on Career-long professional learning (CLPL) for teaching staff. This will include your development of curricular classroom-based resources.

Applicants should have demonstrable experience of working with children and/or young people within a formal or informal educational setting.
