Y sort it provides a range of support services for young people throughout West Dunbartonshire. We are a registered charity, run by an elected Board of Directors who are young people aged between 16 and 25.

Young Carer Support Worker

Y sort it Young Carer Service supports young carers aged between 10-25yrs across West Dunbartonshire. The role of the Youth Support Workers will be to support young carers and young adult carers (16-25 years) in making informed choices around issues that are important to them, through one to one, group work sessions & respite.

You will be offering needs assessments, developing support plans, providing advice and information, training and peer support to help young carers / young adult carers within their caring role.

Young carers are supported through a range of measures to alleviate the caring role and your role will be to work closely with schools, partner agencies and family members to ensure they are able to be a young person first and foremost.

The post holder should be flexible as the actual times of work will involve working, evenings, school holidays and weekends. The post holder should be flexible as the actual times of work may change to respond to the demands of the work of the Young Carers Service including overnight stays for respite.

We are looking for a highly motivated, and enthusiastic Youth Worker Coordinator who is passion about developing and delivering quality, engaging & fun activities that are accessible to children & young people across West Dunbartonshire.

You will have the main role of driving our Y sort it youth Bus to provide outreach provision and activities across West Dunbartonshire in various locations & coordinating our youth club, Street Play sessions and holiday programmes.

You will be responsible for the development & delivery our exciting and engaging high quality activities that children & young people can experience and enjoy, whilst improving their health & wellbeing, encouraging outdoor learning opportunities, supporting children & young people, to make friendships, learn together and become more connected to their local community.

This post involves managing and coordinating a youth work team to work closely with children & young people, their families and any relevant partners, to ensure young people are informed and supported to participate in any programmes, and any other community based activities.

You will have the main role of driving our Y sort it Youth Bus to provide outreach provision and activities across West Dunbartonshire in various locations including our youth clubs, Street Play sessions and holiday programmes. You must be a confident of driving a large vehicle, training will be provided.

You will be part of a team delivering exciting and engaging high quality activities that children & young people can experience outdoor learning opportunities they enjoy, whilst improving their health & wellbeing, making friendships, and becoming more connected to their local community.
