Fresh Start's mission is to help people make a home for themselves. From our 2 bases in Edinburgh we provide services to those who have experienced homelessness and we have four key aims: • To enable people who have been homeless to resettle in their community. • To provide volunteering opportunities that offer practical and emotional support to our clients. • To help our clients develop life skills • To involve church members and the wider community in our work to end homelessness The charity’s aims are achieved through services that are delivered in three categories: Provision of Goods; Social and Practical Support; and Employability. The services are delivered throughout Edinburgh and support over 2,000 households per year.

Fresh Start is building on the core services that we have delivered for over 20 years and opening a community hub in summer 2020 in North Edinburgh. The renovated space will include a thrift shop with a community pantry, meeting / training spaces for local people and organisations to use and a community kitchen.

The role of the CPO will help Fresh Start to develop partnerships with corporate supporters, community groups and maximise income opportunities through a variety of different mediums.

Volunteer Coordinator – Cooking

Fresh Start is building on the core services that we have delivered for over 20 years and opening a community hub in summer 2020 in North Edinburgh. The renovated space will include a thrift shop with a community pantry, meeting / training spaces for local people and organisations to use and a community kitchen. The kitchen space will accommodate our cooking services that deliver a variety of different sessions to people who have experienced homelessness and / or at risk of homelessness. The kitchen space will also have regular “open access” drop in’s for local people to get walk in advice and information.

We are looking for someone who will join us on an exciting new journey.

The Volunteer Coordinator will work alongside a team of volunteers and ensure that the cooking services are delivered to a high standard, and work with the hub volunteers to ensure a welcoming walk in space for local people.
