Charity registered in Scotland SC049358

The Machan Trust is a children and young persons charity operating in and around the Larkhall area in South Lanarkshire, Scotland. The Trust was established in 1998 as a joint churches initiative with a part time member of staff and a part time student on placement. The good work was quickly realised and the trust grew quickly with funding applications being accepted for full time and part time youth workers as well as office staff including a volunteer coordinator. The volunteer coordinator post allowed us to extend the amount of groups held throughout the week, reaching more children. The Trust is now operating over 40 groups a week in Larkhall, Netherburn, Stonehouse and Ashgill. We reach over 500 children aged 4-18 engaging them as participants and volunteers. Our constant vision is to make a positive difference to the life chances of young people in the Larkhall area by providing activities, experiences and opportunities, and by doing so building a stronger community.
