Communications and Promotions Officer

Sustrans, Scotland is looking for a well organised and responsive individual to assist with all aspects of communication and promotion of Sustrans Scotland work to promote sustainable transport and active travel to a range of audiences including key stakeholders, the public, volunteers and supporters.

With a good level of education, experience of working in a communications environment and of organising and running events, you will have excellent written and verbal communications skills, excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to write clear, concise and engaging text, the ability to work co-operatively and with effective time management. You will have excellent IT literacy, have an understanding of marketing and communications principles and be committed to the promotion of sustainable transport.

Delivery Co-ordinator, Communities

This exciting role will identify, develop and implement projects and programmes of work designed to get more people walking and cycling in communities across Scotland and to work as part of a team identifying and delivering community led projects designed to create environments that support active travel, strengthen communities and improve place quality.

Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent, you will have experience of project management and delivery, of working with community engagement or behaviour change projects and of line management. With excellent written and verbal communications skills and experience of partnership working with key stakeholders, you will have good interpersonal and presentation skills, the ability to motivate others and experience of working within budgets and to deadlines. You will have the ability to build successful relationships, to plan events, to use effective time management skills and be able to present the case for a particular course of action. You will also be committed to the promotion of sustainable transport.

Network Engagement Officer

This new and exciting role will be responsible for developing and delivering a comprehensive Business and Community Engagement Programme associated with route development on the National Cycle Network in Scotland. This will include supporting the development and implementation of an agreed business plan for specified route products in line with Sustrans Vision with a key objective of generating buy in from the private sector and local communities for route developments. A target audience will be recreational cyclists and cycle tourists.

Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent, you will have experience of working with private sector organisations, of partnership working within a tourism focussed project, of building successful relationships, of developing and delivering engagement activities and of organising, publicising and running events. With excellent written and verbal communications skills, you will have good presentation skills, the ability to motivate and enthuse others, excellent organisational skills and the ability to plan and prioritise your own workload. You will also be committed to the promotion of sustainable transport.

Senior Communications and Public Affairs Officer

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced communicator to take the lead in day to day public-facing communications with the aim of raising Sustrans profile with its key influencing and consumer audiences.

Educated to a degree level or equivalent, you will have demonstrable experience of working in a busy communications environment and of producing engaging content for a range of audiences.

You will have the ability to write relevant professional copy for print, digital channels and social media and will have excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

You will have excellent IT literacy, have a good understanding of the media, digital and marketing communications environment and be committed to the promotion of sustainable transport.

You will lead a small team, while working closely with colleagues in other delivery areas to publicise a whole range of Sustrans projects.
