The Service

Tollcross View is a 24/7 supported accommodation service based near Tollcross, Edinburgh. Our 14 service users are male homeless individuals with a variety of support needs including substance misuse and mental health issues.

The Job

You will work alone to provide overnight cover for the service, ensuring the building and all service users are safe and secure. You will deal with any emergency situations in accordance with organisational policies and procedures. Shifts run from 9pm to 8.10am and you will carry out 7 shifts per fortnight.

The Candidate

You should be confident in dealing with a homeless client group and have compassion and understanding for the issues homeless people face.

The Role

Support is given to individuals to develop and maintain skills and confidence in a variety of areas, such as:

• Mental health issues

• Substance misuse and learning disabilities

• Developing independence skills and coping strategies

• Learning daily life skills (cooking, cleaning, shopping)

• Emotional and practical support with any issues that arise

The Candidate

• Experience of working within a highly pressurised environment and the ability to respond to emergency situations

Recent development of our contract in Angus, has given the opportunity for an additional Manager to join the Angus services and work with the Dundee Manager in developing the Gowrie Homecare service across all areas.

The Job
