We make a difference to family carers in East Dunbartonshire. We are currently seeking a Treasurer to help drive our strategic plans forward as we plan for the retirement of our current Treasurer who steps down in November 2022.
You would be part of a small and local board of management (currently 9 members) all with a mix of business, health sector, HR, marketing and voluntary sector skills and experiences. Importantly, we also involve people with experience of providing unpaid care to family members as either an adult or as a young carer.
Our Board meets 5 times a year (currently via Zoom) and there are also 3 Financial Sub Group meetings in-between. The Treasurer will be expected to attend at least the majority of these and also to report to the organisation's wider members at the annual general meeting. Between meetings and e-mails, we anticipate involvement being no more than 5-10 hours over the course of a month.
Up for a new challenge? Want to make a difference?
Love young people and are good at listening?
Self-motivated and like to keep busy?
We are looking for a Young Carer Support Worker to join our team. Covering all ages from 5 to 25 this will be a busy and varied job covering raising awareness within schools, working with families & providing 1-1 support with a young person. One day might be spent encouraging a young person to open up, the next you might be delivering wellbeing parcels or organising school holiday fun activities. You will be working across all age groups, whether supporting someone in Primary School or helping a Young Adult get into University, College, Apprenticeships or their first job.
The successful applicant will need to be an enthusiastic individual that delivers; a self-starter with excellent communication and organisation skills. You need to be passionate about making a difference to young carers and their families but also able to demonstrate what that difference is.
You will be completely working from home initially but must be able to travel to our offices in Milngavie (less than 25 minutes from Glasgow centre by train) and throughout East Dunbartonshire. As restrictions ease, you may still be able to partly remote-work on an ongoing basis.
Are you self-motivated and good at motivating others? Do you have an interest in health and wellbeing? Are you keen to work in an organisation that makes a difference?
As Carer Wellbeing Worker, your aim is to provide carers with information on the many services and networks available to them. You will act as a central ‘connection point’, providing help, advice, support and links to our other services as well as the range of community initiatives available.
Your role is also about empowering carers to learn about their rights and options, taking a holistic view of their lives; encouraging them to acknowledge the impact of caring. You will be providing 1-1 support, encouragement and motivation to make even the smallest of changes to their lives.
You must be able to travel to our offices in Milngavie (less than 25 minutes from Glasgow centre by train) and throughout East Dunbartonshire. You will also be able to partly remote-work on an ongoing basis.
Successful applicant subject to PVG membership/disclosure.
Do you have experience of working in the field of employability? Are you keen to work in an organisation that makes a difference? We are looking for someone self-motivated and good at supporting adults and young adults in achieving their employment & learning goals.
In the field of employability, no carer should be left behind. Whether a young adult carer just starting to think of career or further education or an adult carer looking to return to the workplace, your role is to help them get there.
As Employability Co-ordinator, you will deliver all aspects of the employability pipeline for carers in this new project. You need to be able to ‘hit the ground running’ but there will be plenty of support to help you within Carers Link and local Employability partners.
We now operate on a Hybrid basis so remote work is possible, however, you must be able to travel to our offices in Milngavie (less than 25 minutes from Glasgow centre by train) and meet with carers or placement providers throughout East Dunbartonshire and neighbouring areas.
