Our vision is that every person affected receives the best treatment, information and support. Since 1973, we’ve been caring for, supporting and campaigning on behalf of people affected by breast cancer. Today, we offer a unique range of services including one-to-one support over the phone and online from specialists and people who’ve been there, plus local group support. From the moment someone notices something isn’t right, through to their treatment and beyond, we’re there to help them feel more in control.

About the Role

Are you passionate about ensuring that people with breast cancer and their families get the best possible support? At Breast Cancer Care, we are committed to providing the emotional, social and practical support and information that people need following a diagnosis of breast cancer.

Due to the expansion of our unique support services for people affected by breast cancer, we are now looking for a capable and ambitious Services Development Manager to take the lead on ensuring successful delivery of our existing portfolio, and negotiate new services, working in partnership with the NHS, voluntary and statutory organisations in locations across Scotland.

You will be responsible for managing a team of permanent and contract staff and supporting our vital services’ volunteers, working closely with the other services’ teams to deliver Breast Cancer Care’s organisational strategy, Facing Breast Cancer Together, which sets out ambitious targets to increase access, our reach and influence across the UK.

Thriving on challenge, you will have the determination to see through the service set-up process from initial discussions to operational delivery. With a willingness to travel, you will have proven people management skills, and the ability to work as part of a busy team and with other teams across different geographical sites. It goes without saying that you’ll need exceptional organisational and time management skills, and be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication.

Services Development Coordinator (Scotland)

The successful candidate will have experience of coordinating and facilitating events or services, experience of working with sensitive or vulnerable groups and high level of confidence in developing and maintaining partnerships with health professionals. With a willingness to travel, you will have the ability to work collaboratively as part of a busy team and with other teams across different geographical sites. We are looking for excellent organisational and time management skills, excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to multitask.

The Services Development Coordinator role is based in Glasgow but will work across various locations in Scotland, mainly in the East of Scotland but also including Inverness, delivering our unique Moving Forward portfolio and working in partnership with the NHS and other voluntary and statutory organisations.

Philanthropy Manager (Job Share)

About the role

To help achieve our ambitious growth targets we are looking for a highly motivated Philanthropy Manager to co-manage our major giving programme in Scotland. The role holder will be challenged to secure philanthropic support for Breast Cancer Care, covering the whole of Scotland, through building relationships with existing major donor prospects, trusts and foundation and cultivating new relationships.

The successful candidate will preferably have a strong track-record of face-to-face cultivation and making the ask for philanthropic support, but candidates with transferable skills will be considered. Key to us is that you are experienced in growing one to one relationships and in being a collaborative team player. You will have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, and a demonstrable track record of planning and executing personalised cultivation and stewardship plans.

You will be a member of a team of six, four of whom are based in London, and one is your job share partner based in Glasgow (returning from maternity leave in November). Therefore elements of flexibility, partnership working and an openness to travel will be required. We will also look for you to be able to self motivate and work independently where needed. You will be part of a wider team of managers in the Scotland office, tasked with supporting and motivating more junior members of the team where appropriate.

Community Fundraising Executive

Our clinical expertise, tailored information and emotional support network help many thousands of people every day to find a way to live with, through and beyond breast cancer.

About the Role

The Community Fundraising Executive is the first person that our fabulous fundraisers will speak to when they tell us they are organising their own fundraising events. You should be enthusiastic, organised and an excellent communicator as this job is busy, varied and two days are rarely the same. This dynamic role will be responsible for stewarding and supporting fundraisers to ensure they are equipped to fundraise for Breast Cancer Care as well as assisting with the recruitment, training and support of our brilliant fundraising volunteers. You will be developing lasting relationships and building new networks. The Community Fundraising Executive will also assist the Community Fundraiser and support the wider Scotland Team with social media.

We are looking for someone who loves working with people and who has a passion for building lasting relationships with supporters and volunteers. You should be self-motivated, enthusiastic and organised. Experience of working in a charity is not essential, but sales or customer service experience is desirable. There is travel involved in the role so a car owner/driver is desirable.
