'One person caring about another represents life’s greatest value' – Jim Rohn
Care and Share Companionship is a community charity providing 1-1 and group support to older people over the age of 60 in the Kirkcaldy area who are living in isolation and loneliness. Our vision is to provide personalised, flexible companionship to older people, who we refer to as 'Friends.' We tailor our support to their needs and bring people together regardless of age or background, building relationships with each other and within their communities. We are committed to challenging social stereotypes regarding older people and believe they should feel valued and respected, and supported to be active members of their community.
Established in 2019, we are a young and highly respected organisation entering an exciting time of growth and expansion. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and professional individual to join our small team and to play a key role in delivering and developing our service and coordinating our community befriending programme. In return we will offer a positive and flexible working environment and support for your own professional development.
CSC is a Kirkcaldy-based befriending organisation that provides support and companionship for people over the age of 60 that are lonely or living in social isolation and who live in Kirkcaldy and the surrounding area. CSC refers to such people as its “friends”. The befriending support services are provided by circa. 25 volunteers who we match to the friends, and who build and maintain a 1:1 relationship with the friends typically via home visits and telephone calls. In addition, we arrange social events that allow friends and volunteers to enjoy time together in a group setting. These acts of kindness are invaluable to the many friends that we support but are also highly rewarding for our volunteers who have a genuine desire to improve other people’s lives and are willing to set aside some of their own time to do this.
This is an exciting time as we move forward having established our presence within the Kirkcaldy area.
We currently employ two members of staff, one of whom (the founder and Service Manager) is retiring, which has created an exciting opportunity.
We therefore seek a new member of staff, in the role of Operations Manager, who will have responsibility for the overall operational performance and development of the charity.
