Ama-zing Harmonies is a community singing group that brings people together through music and food. Through the activities we provide, we aim to tackle isolation, improve health and wellbeing, improve diversity, tolerance and unity in the community. Overall we are hoping to strengthen the community and build individuals positively.

African Health Project Worker - Forth Valley

We are seeking a Support and Prevention Worker to work as part of our Health Project.

Covering the NHS Forth Valley region, the purpose of the post is:

  • To promote HIV awareness with Africans in Forth Valley, developing and delivering information materials, events and training in collaboration with relevant community groups and Forth Valley organisations.
  • To improve access to health care generally for Africans living in Forth Valley; to improve access to HIV testing for Africans living in Forth Valley.
  • To provide training and support on delivering culturally appropriate services to relevant agencies in Forth Valley.
  • Through consultation with existing and potential service users and other organisations, develop a support service for African people living with HIV in Forth Valley; identify appropriate ways of providing emotional and practical support for this group and develop policy and practice guidelines to deliver the service.

This post is initially funded for one year by NHS Forth Valley. Ethnic origin for this post must be African; permitted under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.
