The Fair Isle Development Company was established in 2015, as a response to growing community concern regarding the sustainability of the island and its future. In common with the aspirations of many small island communities the initial aims of the development company were to stimulate sustainable demographic growth supported by good employment opportunities, good services, facilities and affordable housing. Going forward it is hoped that FIDC will function as a focus for the administration of community projects and a vehicle to manage assets on behalf of the community and to act as a community voice when working with external stakeholders.

Fair Isle Development Manager

Fair Isle Development Company are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Development Manager to support the community and its partners in the economic and social development of the island.
We are looking for an individual with drive and a passion for community led development. Experience of leading housing and business development projects would be an advantage. The role is home based but with visits to Fair Isle expected at least 3-4 times per year.
The role is offered on a self employed contract 4 days a week basis at a pro rata salary of £35,000 pa plus expenses and for a fixed term of 3 years.
