Individual Giving Manager

We are seeking a personable, experienced and motivated fundraiser join our busy team within the Fundraising Department as an Individual Giving Manager. The role will be responsible for stewardship of individual existing supporters and looking after them with a high level of care and responsibility. The post holder will be involved in developing new individual supporters and encouraging existing donors to increase their giving, whilst maintaining flawless donor records and strong communication links with corporate and trust fundraisers.

An ideal candidate will possess at two least years’ experience in an individual giving fundraising environment and will also possess a knowledge of individual giving fundraising techniques and best practice across the charity sector.

Knowledge of relevant legislations, such as GDPR and Gift Aid is also essential.

In order to succeed in this role, you will able to remain calm under pressure and possess an excellent interpersonal manner with outstanding written and verbal communication skills. We also need a strong team player with a positive, innovative and flexible approach.

Spektrix Database knowledge, an interest in the arts and an understanding of an arts environment, particularly opera would be an advantage.

Applicants will be required to work outwith normal working hours and travel across Scotland, and possibly beyond, will be required.

Events Manager

We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Events Manager to join our busy team within the Fundraising Department. The role will be responsible for recruiting new supporters as well as stewardship of existing supporters. The role will also be responsible for creating, scheduling, planning and delivering an annual programme of events – both online and digital – tailored to our supporters’ interest and to Scottish Opera’s priorities. Our events are a vital part of our stewardship and recruitment of supporters and must be enjoyable, informative and engaging, with a suitable range of events being accessible to as many people as possible.

An ideal candidate will possess an awareness of relevant charity regulations, including gift aid, GDPR and protection of vulnerable groups. They should also be creative in devising potential events with a view to identifying new donors.

In order to succeed in this role, you will able to remain calm under pressure and possess an excellent interpersonal manner with outstanding written and verbal communication skills. We also need a strong team player with a positive, proactive and flexible approach. Good knowledge of office IT packages are also required.

Senior Producer

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Prodcuer to join our busy Education Department.

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree standard (MA,B.Ed) or demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge and experience preferably in an arts organisation or similar. You should have excellent organisational skills, report writing, presentation, communication and interpersonal skills and be positive and pro-active.

Your role will encompass a broad range of responsibilities including direct project management of some of the department’s live and digital activities. You will research and identify new approaches, creative initiatives and teaching methodologies that raise the profile and develop the perception of opera. You will also identify suitable artists and animateurs to deliver these programmes.

Administrative Officer

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Administration Officer to join our busy Education and Outreach Department. You will report to the Executive Producer and you will be responsible for providing a comprehensive administration service for the department.

The role will encompass a broad range of responsibilities including organising and updating information required by and used within the department and shared throughout the company. You will provide support to the Producers in issuing contracts and employee related paperwork including associated documents. You will also act as the liaison with Finance and HR to ensure all necessary information is passed over accurately as required and you will be responsible for maintaining and updating effective filing systems both online and hard copy as necessary.

This role will also provide support on projects within the team including collating information for inclusion in reports to Senior Management, Scottish Opera’s Fundraising Department and External Bodies.

We are looking for someone who has strong previous administrative experience within a busy department and has excellent IT skills including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

It is important that you have great organisational, interpersonal and communication skills and have a high attention to detail. We also need you to have a positive, pro-active and flexible approach.
