Overview

Fife Community Services deliver a range of services across the area to help those living alone, including lunch and activity clubs, day centres and companionship services. Our volunteers provide social interaction and healthy food for older people across the Fife areas who are struggling with frailty, loneliness or isolation or cognitive impairment.

We’re currently looking for a Service Manager to support the delivery of the Fife Community Services on a permanent, full-time basis.

The Role

As the Service Manager for this service, you will manage the delivery of services across Fife, ensuring that the needs of the clients are met and staff are delivering a quality service.

You will be an excellent communicator with all types of people, red hot on administration and reporting, very well organised and motivational with both staff and volunteers.

You will need to be able to build relationships with all stakeholders and, working with the Health and Community Operations Manager, will identify ways of improving and expanding the services delivered to suit the client group.

Working Hours

This is a full-time role, working 35 hours per week from Monday to Friday.

What you’ll need

  • Experience of developing services to meet the needs of the clients
  • Experience of managing budgets
  • Experience of motivating a team of staff and volunteers
  • Knowledge of community issues across the local area
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Good organisational skills
  • PVG membership for working with vulnerable adults
  • A full, valid driving licence

We’re now looking for a Service Manager to join us on permanent, part-time basis.

Your role

As the Service Manager, you will lead and manage the delivery of our Healthy Happy Lives Support Service in Shetland.

The Healthy Happy Lives Support Service aims to reduce isolation in older people through building their confidence to reconnect with their communities.

In this key role, you will:

  • Recruit, train and oversee the day-to-day co-ordination of staff and volunteers
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key local contacts
  • Oversee and manage the service budget, specifically service income and expenditure
  • Support our community fundraising activities both locally and nationally
  • Ensure the service is compliant with all the necessary policies, procedures and requirements
  • Undertake general administrative duties

Interested? To be considered, you’ll need:

  • Experience of managing and motivating teams of staff and volunteers
  • Experience of working at management level
  • Knowledge and understanding of the NHS, Commissioning groups and Local Authority Commissioning including Health and Social Care Bodies
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to act on your own initiative
  • The ability to proficiently use standard IT systems
  • At a minimum, GCSEs in Maths and English at grade A-C or Scottish Higher qualification
  • A full, valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle (for travel within the role)

This role will require a DBS check.
