Children and Young Peoples Team Leader

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and energetic individual to lead and manage the Children and Young Persons support services team at Motherwell & District Women’s Aid. The applicant will be able to demonstrate a high degree of self-motivation and have the ability to motivate others. They will have a passion for improving the lives of women, children and young people who have experienced domestic abuse and experience in providing direct support services to vulnerable young people.

Applicants should be qualified to degree/diploma level in a relevant discipline i.e: Social Work, Community Education, Housing Support, SVQ level 3 Health & Social Services, Leadership and Management Level 4, and have at least 1 year senior and/or leadership experience providing support and/or care services to vulnerable people within the last 3 years.

Driving license and access to a car is essential

Motherwell & District Women’s Aid seeks to appoint a full time admin support officer to work within our service. You will provide a high quality comprehensive administrative service ensuring the effective and efficient running of a busy domestic abuse service,

The post holder will be responsible for the provision of administrative support for the organisation. You must be flexible and adaptable to changing workloads and have good communication and IT skills. Including proficiency in Microsoft Office Programmes and Case Management Systems. You must be honest, hardworking, and self-motivated and work as part of a team.

We are looking for someone who is positive, creative, and accountable, with the ability to build positive relationships with partner organisations, service users and our staff.

Essential Criteria

Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years work experience. Membership of the PVG scheme is an essential requirement and registered or be willing to register with SSSC. You should be qualified to a minimum of SVQ 3 in Health and Social Care.

The candidate should have experience of delivering support, advocacy and information to women experiencing domestic abuse and of working with support plans and risk assessments. You must have an understanding of the issues affecting women experiencing domestic abuse and share our commitment to feminism and equality. The Women’s Advocacy Worker may support women in a variety of settings, including outreach, refuge, and office support. Applicants must be highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals who are committed to supporting vulnerable women who have experienced or are experiencing domestic abuse.

Car and clean driving licence is essential with evening work involved.

The applicant will be able to demonstrate a high degree of self-motivation and have the ability to motivate others. They will have a passion for improving the lives of women, children and young people who have experienced domestic abuse and experience in providing direct support services to vulnerable young people. Working within the Children and Young People’s Team, the role of a Children and Young People’s Support Worker is to provide preventative, crisis intervention and on-going casework support to children and young people who are directly or indirectly exposed to the issues of domestic abuse.

Applicants should be qualified to degree/diploma level in a relevant discipline i.e: Social Work, Community Education, Housing Support, HNC level Health & Social Services, and registered or willing to register with SSSC. A minimum of 3 years’ experience work with CYP is essential.

Driving license and access to a car is essential.
