Ochil Tower School is an independent residential school for children and young people with additional support needs from the ages of 8-21. We are committed to promoting a nurturing, safe and fulfilling environment for the children and young people that we support over 52 weeks of the year. Our ethos is based upon a social pedagogy model, and the purpose of this role is to recognise and build on the individual strengths of each young person and use their interests to help them engage in their learning. We are a Camphill community who incorporates the ethos of Waldorf education and Camphill values into our 24h curriculum which is based on the Curriculum for Excellence.

The Role

An exciting new role has opened up within our school, with a focus on learning through the 24 hour curriculum and building up a close collaboration with the care team, in order to strengthen our vision of learning and growing together across the whole school.

We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic and confident person who has significant experience with the CfE, Hgios 4, GIRFEC and the key drivers of the NIF to join our Operational Management Team.

The Education Manager has a key role in the development and implementation of the learning and Education Strategy taking our recent move to a 52 week provision into strong consideration.

Along with leading the Education Team to implement a curriculum which enables our young people to grow and develop skills for life, working closely together with the Care Manager and the Care Team will be an important aspect of the role, building on the successful model of a 24h curriculum not only during school weeks but across the year.

Reporting to the Head of Education you will have excellent verbal and written skills. Following a staged process and upon passing the 6 month probation period you will be line manager to the Teachers and support them to deliver professional and organisational objectives and values.
