Full Time, Part Time and Sessional Hours available!

We have a variety of different shift options available. We have shorter shifts that fit around school hours, longer day and night shifts as well as 24-hour services that offer a pay by hour sleepover.

We also have positions for sessional members of staff.

Enable offers full and on-going training, with no experience required! We also offer an in-depth induction process which helps to build positive relationships with the people we support!

Personal Assistants (Support Workers) have the most important role within Enable by making a positive difference every day to the lives of the people we support. No two days are the same for our Personal Assistants but what we can guarantee is that you will be supporting someone with a learning disability to achieve their goals and outcomes – whatever they may be!

Each person we support has different support needs, so your support worker role may include assisting them with various aspects of personal care, moving and handling or positive behavioural support whilst expanding their social networks and connections.

Enable are looking for personal assistants to support across some of the services in Orkney.

We are looking for personal assistants to help the people we support get the best out of life

We are currently looking for personal assistants on a Full time, Part time and Sessional basis.

Enable can offer a variety of different hours-based contracts or a sessional based contract. We have a variety of services that provide different shift times, these can be flexibility around school hours and other commitments. We person match our staff to the people we support based on values and similar interests.

Our current shift times vary to meet the needs of the service, but these can range from short shift during the day to a 15-hour day with a pay by hour sleepover and are spread across a 7-day week.

The role of a personal assistant is supporting people from the comfort of their own homes in the community, our personal assistants regular support the people we support to enjoy take-away nights, baking, cooking, and catching up with films/tv shows. The people we support enjoy playing games, completing jigsaws and have a general natter to catch up on the local community. Personal assistants also support people out into the local community, attending local social events, visiting various restaurants and local cafes and have a browse around the shops. Our personal assistants also support with meet ups with friends and family as well as attending local groups and clubs such as swimming, walking football and many many others!

Enable offer a supportive team environment as well as being able to express on an individual basis by providing personalised support. We are looking for dedicated and motivated personal assistants within the local Orkney community.
