The Post holder is responsible for developing and managing the our Community Transport Fleet, and transport staff team and is responsible for securing section 19 contracts

ORGANISATIONAL POSITION

The overarching aim of the GDT Association is to improve the health, function and quality of life for young people/adults across North lanarkshire. Utilising a variety of forms of social encouragement GDT engages with local people to take up services to improve their health and wellbeing

DIMENSIONS –

The Post holder is responsible for:

  • Fleet management
  • Transport Staff & Volunteer recruitment and management Service Development

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Senior Care Manager you will:

  • develop and manage the day to day Community Transport service
  • identify and organise appropriate training for volunteers & staff
  • recruit, support and manage volunteer’s
  • research and secure appropriate grant funding
  • ensure GDT Transport services operates efficiently and with a Low carbon footprint
  • keep GDT Transport services abreast of eco policies and practices ensuring the fleet is reducing carbon emissions safely and efficiently through eco driving
  • ensure maintenance and schedule checks in line with regulations.
  • liaise with and encourage work with other relevant bodies appropriate to the post
  • market and promote the the service Work directly with colleagues across the entire service ensuring full access to transport services.
  • ensure all health and safety aspects are complied with
  • keep records, monitor and evaluate the programme in line with the requirements of the principal funders and GDT
  • carry out any other duties appropriate to the post

The Post holder is responsible for developing and managing the Active travel initiative within GDT and is responsible for promoting the opportunity to potential volunteers and service users

ORGANISATIONAL POSITION

The overarching aim of the GDT Association is to improve the health, function and quality of life for young people/adults in the Northern Corridor. Utilising a variety of forms of social encouragement GDT engages with local people to take up services to improve their health and wellbeing

DIMENSIONS –

The Post holder is responsible for:

  • Recruitment and support of volunteer’s
  • Recruitment of target number of participants
  • Organising regular weekly led Cycles/walks in various areas within Glenboig and surrounding villages
  • Record keeping and evaluation of the programme
  • Taking bookings for our e-bike scheme

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To develop and manage a programme of led cycles/walks, approved by the GDT Children & Families Co-ordinator
  • To identify and organise appropriate training for volunteers
  • To recruit, support and manage volunteer’s
  • To investigate new cycling/walking routes and grade them accordingly
  • To liaise with and encourage work with other relevant bodies appropriate to the post
  • To market and promote the cycling/walking programme
  • To ensure all health and safety aspects are complied with
  • To keep records, monitor and evaluate the programme in line with the requirements of the principal funders and GDT
  • To carry out any other duties appropriate to the post
