  • Forth Valley, Cumbernauld and Kilsyth
  • Closing 27th March 2023

We have a rare and exciting opportunity for a visionary leader to take forward the Community Development work of Strathcarron Hospice.

As a Hospice, we provide a comprehensive range of specialist Hospice services across Forth Valley, Cumbernauld and Kilsyth and strive to support people in our communities to live well, die well and to grieve well. For several years we have also been on a journey to walk alongside and learn from our local communities using an Asset Based Community Development approach. We believe that if we work with local neighbourhoods to discover their gifts, skills and experience, connect these together and mobilise them into action, then people will be better able to support each other in life and in times of illness, death and grief. Building a bridge between the Hospice and our communities will also help people develop a better understanding of what Hospice care is actually all about, and how they can more easily access our services at a time and in a way that is right for them.

If you would like to help us navigate the next chapter of this important journey, this may be the job for you.

In the role you will

  • grasp new opportunities to build partnerships, grow and resource this important strand of Hospice work
  • manage the operational aspects of Community Development and a team of community builders/ link workers,
  • build meaningful connection between Hospice services/teams and the communities in our catchment area to grow support for those facing illness, death and loss.

Your gifts will include

  • strategic vision,
  • collaborative leadership
  • effective communicator with an enthusiasm to inspire others to think and behave differently
  • an ability to build partnerships and connections
  • A passion for supporting local neighbourhoods to do what they can do best.
  • A love of learning and proliferating others’ learning

Your skillset will include

  • a sound understanding of the tapestry that is Community and how it weaves together
  • an ability to drive projects forward and learn from them
  • ability to evaluate the impact and share learning from all aspects of the community development work.
