The Yard is a Scottish charity with one simple aim; to build thriving communities of support that enrich the lives of disabled children, young people and their families. We offer play, respite and family support from our adventure play centres in Edinburgh, Dundee and Fife. To meet the increasing need in Scotland, we are planning to increase our services reaching more children and young people. We are looking to recruit a Head of Service who will be part of our Executive team.
Leading a team of experienced service managers, the successful applicant will ensure the delivery of the new services whilst making sure our current delivery is not compromised. They will implement a comprehensive evaluation system meeting the varying needs of our stakeholders; families, funders, partners and the Care Inspectorate.

To work as a member of the Assertive Outreach Team, which aims to offer support to single homeless women, providing permanent housing directly to homeless individuals with ongoing assertive but flexible support, with a strong focus on harm reduction and sustainable tenancy within the community.
Women only including those with a Gender Recognition Certificate need apply under Schedule 9 (part 1) of the Equality Act 2010.

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

About Outreach Dundee
Aberlour Family Outreach Dundee provides support to families who are struggling to cope as a result of drug and alcohol use within the family. We give children a trusted person they can talk to, while supporting parents to create a safe environment for their children through addressing their dependency and improving parenting confidence.

We are looking for a Child and Family Worker to work 37.5 hours per week, predominantly Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm with the occasional need to work out with these times depending on the needs of the families.
We are looking for an energetic, creative and compassionate individual to join our friendly, supportive team. We value skills such as providing children and young people with a wide range of fun activities and experiences to enrich their lives as well as supporting families to actively participate in shaping and defining the support we offer.
You will hold, or be willing to work towards, a relevant professional qualification at SCQF level 7 or above together with relevant experience of working with children or young people. You must also be able to demonstrate awareness of the key elements of working with people affected by substance use as well as an understanding of, and commitment to, young people’s rights.

Our Options Dundee Service works in partnership with families to offer tailored packages of support to help families to stay together. The support we provide is based on the needs of the family and takes a variety of forms including supported morning and bedtime routines in the family homes and 1:1 sessions with children and young people to support them to access the community and a variety of groups we run.
This specialised service offered by Aberlour Options Dundee enables children and young people to grow and develop - accessing their local area, broadening their experiences and not just meeting their needs but supporting them to flourish.

What we are looking for....
We are looking to recruit a Relief Family Worker to provide ad hoc cover when staff are on holiday or are off sick. Relief Workers are a vital part of our team, helping to ensure that full cover is available throughout the year.
Work is offered on a casual basis: Relief Workers are not obliged to accept shifts offered and Aberlour is not obliged to offer shifts. In return for taking on this essential role, you will work alongside a dedicated, supportive staff team and be offered valuable training and development opportunities.
You will provide needs-led, person-centred support to children and families with a learning disability, or who have an autism spectrum condition with complex physical, learning and/or emotional needs, which can include supporting the family at home, in their local community or in schools.

By joining Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland (CHSS) as a Health Defence Coordinator you can be the difference between people just surviving and really living.
You will be part of Scotland’s leading charity providing support to people at risk of developing, or living with chest, heart and stroke conditions to live life to the full again. Our services form a nationwide network of local support groups, nurses, volunteers and one-to-one support teams helping people live a healthier life and supporting families adjust to life with a heart or lung condition or after a stroke.
The Health Defence Coordinator will be responsible for the delivery of the Health Defence programme covering the Tayside area. The role includes delivering health checks; healthy lifestyle workshops; and supporting lifestyle change to reduce the risk of our conditions in local communities, particularly where there is a high prevalence of health inequalities and deprivation. The role will also involve the development and line management of volunteer roles to optimise our reach.
The Health Defence Coordinator will also be expected to support integration of Health Defence across CHSS while working closely with colleagues in the services directorate to enable CHSS activities where appropriate.
